SWOP Parent Mentors
Morrill has more SWOP parent mentors than any school in Chicago! SWOP Parent Mentors are trained by SWOP (Southwest Organizing Project) to work with students in the classroom and to become leaders in the school and community. SWOP Parent Mentors spend two hours per day in a classroom working with students. In addition, many have become members of the Local School Council, while others have led immigration marches and housing campaigns. They are parents we admire!
If you are interested in becoming a SWOP Parent Mentor please contact Mrs. Estella Bautista or Ms. Sarah Mesick.
Want to volunteer in your child's classroom? Please contact your child's homeroom teacher. We truly value parental involvement. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate all requests.
At Morrill we have more sports programs than nearly any school in Chicago! Would you like to help coach a sport? Contact Mr. Anthony Abata or Mr. Keith Volante, our PE teachers, to get started.
