One problem persists, and that is how we interact, communicate, and see each other as people of different color, race, and ethnicity.
Recently, a problem occurred between several classrooms during recess. The problem began because students were not politely sharing the soccer/football field. Some students were using derogatory terms and racial epithets.
For the first post on our new Community Blog, the questions we are posing are:
- How is the Morrill Community unique in our diversity?
- Should we respect and cherish our diversity?
- What can we do and say to build a stronger community, especially in regards to race, ethnicity, and culture?
Please respond to one or more of these questions in the comment section. All comments must have your real name and your email address. All comments must be appropriate and professional. Remember, your words and your actions represent yourself, your family, your school, and your community.
